handmade leather vest braided

This leather vest is completely hand braided - all seams and edges. It has slanted front yokes, a pointed back yoke, patch hip pockets with flaps that include mated inside pockets (without flaps). It also has two set of 'trick braided' snaps for a closure.
Here is the vest with the 'trick braided' snap closures attached for wearing it with an open front.
Here is a close up look at a slanted front yoke.
Here is a close up of that same slanted yoke. I show this because I've heard of several of my customers wearing their vests inside out at time. One friend of mine even brags that inside out he's still wearing the nicest vest in the 'house'.
Another picture of the vests back yoke when hanging inside out.
Here is what the inside pockets look like (without flaps).
This handmade leather vest has front yokes on it. I have made these a lot of times but have never gotten many opportunities to get pictures of them for my web site. It also has the snap closures that I most readily use on my vests. In the top left two pictures they are shown in the open and closed positions. The lower three pictures are all of the inside of this vest. I put inside pockets on most all of the pockets that accommodate them. Lately I have been doing a more elaborate braid on the yokes - that is pictured on my vests home page. Keep in mind that most all of my work is done with moccasin cowhide which is thicker than the garment leathers that most vests are made with. What's really nice about this leather for my braid work is that it is dyed pretty much clear through. Hence, the edges of the laces are not the whitish blue that a lot of leather this thick is.
