This custom handmade leather vest was handmade using the braided construction of top quality, full grain leather - 1/4" wide laces were used on the seams, edges, pockets, and back yoke. The large brass zipper (YKK #10) was hand sewn using 5 ply nylon thread.
All of the features of the vest were requested by the buyer. He was most particular about the pockets. The 4 oz. moccasin cowhide leather is a bit thicker than garment leather = tough leather for rugged use.
Over the last 40 years, I've built hundreds of these vests. You can see over 50 of them on my vests home page. While they are all braided, that's pretty much where their similarities end. Each buyer tells me what they'd like ...and then I ask the questions to complete the details about it.
